REP. OGLES INTRODUCES “CHARLIE KIRK GOLD MEDAL ACT”
Washington, DC – Congressman Andy Ogles introduced a resolution to posthumously award Charlie Kirk the Congressional Gold Medal in recognition of his contributions to civic leadership, Christian ministry, and the revitalization of American youth culture. Founded at age 18, Turning Point USA grew under Kirk’s leadership to more than 900 campuses nationwide, promoting civic engagement, constitutional literacy, and public debate at institutions often hostile to dissenting views.
“Charlie Kirk deserves the Congressional Gold Medal because he devoted his life to strengthening the moral and cultural foundations of this nation. He equipped young Americans to defend their Christian faith, uphold family values, and embrace their responsibility as citizens. This honor recognizes not just his accomplishments, but the lasting impact he left on a generation,” said Congressman Ogles.
“This medal acknowledges a man who transformed student engagement in public life. Charlie gave young Americans the confidence to speak boldly, think critically, and stand for what is right, even when culture demanded silence. This is not merely a memorial. It is a national declaration that Charlie Kirk’s legacy deserves to be preserved, honored, and held up as an example for future generations,” Congressman Ogles said.
