The Ogles Update

It's been a busy first few weeks in Washington! From the Speaker's race to committee assignments to introducing my first bill since being sworn in, it's been an honor to get to work for the great people of Tennessee's 5th District. I'm excited to share I will be serving on the House Financial Services Committee for the 118th Congress. As inflation continues to rage and there are foreign threats to undermine our economic stability, I am eager to work on solutions and help secure the nation.

The Inflation Reduction Act of 2023

Last week, I introduced the Inflation Reduction Act of 2023. This bill would reduce inflation by repealing the Democrats’ so-called Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. Last Congress, Biden and House Democrats blew through American taxpayers' hard-earned dollars in order to fund their woke "Green New Deal" agenda under the guise of reducing inflation. Instead, inflation still sits at well over 6%. My legislation would put money back where it belongs--in the pockets of the people.

2023 State of the Union

It was a privilege to welcome Dr. Ben Carson to the Capitol as my guest for the State of the Union. While we were both disappointed by the lack of substantive change or concern for the direction of country by President Biden, it was a pleasure to discuss his remarks with Dr. Carson. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to have several meaningful conversations about what can be done to get the country back on track.

Objectives for the 118th Congress

I had the opportunity to sit down with C-SPAN's Washington Journal to talk about the journey that brought me to Washington and some of the goals I hope accomplish this Congress. Some of the top-line issues include getting our economy stabilized, securing our border, and protecting life.

Protecting America from the CCP

This week, the House Financial Services Committee held a hearing to highlight the existential threat from China to the economy. It is unacceptable that we have spent trillions of dollars supporting our national defense while allowing the CCP to fund their military modernization and expansion.
