Welcoming New Manufacturing to Maury
This week, Columbia officially welcomed Mersen, an international manufacturing company focused on innovative solutions to support technological advancements. Mersen's arrival has been in the works for a while now and it was a privilege to be present for its grand opening and ribbon-cutting. After investing $70 million into the plant and hiring nearly 100 folks already, I am excited for the future of Mersen in Columbia.

"I had the privilege of being here at the beginning of this project," Ogles said to the crowd of over 100 attendees including elected officials, company representatives and workers. He explained how the county and city and Maury County Chamber & Economic Alliance helped to bring the company to Columbia, working diligently since before the pandemic, which temporarily stopped momentum on the project.

I am currently seeking paid congressional interns for this fall in my D.C. and District offices. The internship is in-person and will ideally run from August to December, although dates are flexible. Intern responsibilities include answering phone calls, sorting mail, greeting guests, assisting staff with administrative and legislative tasks, attending briefings and hearings, and other projects. Ideal candidates will have a positive attitude, good work ethic, attention to detail, and strong conservative values.
